Het is al de hele zomer heerlijk weer☀ en wat is nou een betere activiteit bij mooi weer dan barbecueën.🥩 Na de zomervakantie op 9 september mag heel het departement scheikunde bij elkaar komen om gezellig te socialiseren over de zomervakantie die iedereen net achter de rug heeft.🚢✈🌴 Ook is dit het perfecte moment voor studenten en docenten om elkaar te leren kennen met een gezellige sfeer. Tijdens de barbecue wordt ook de Protonpluim uitgereikt aan de beste eerstejaars docent van vorig collegejaar!!🏆 De barbecue start vanaf 17:00 en is voor studenten die vorig collegejaar hun propedeuse in 1 keer hebben gehaald GRATIS!!!👩‍🎓👨‍🎓 Genoeg reden om lekker te komen barbecueën dus!!!

On Thursday, October 29, 2026, the Evening of Chemistry will take place at the Stadsschouwburg Groningen – where science, innovation, and entertainment come together in one unforgettable evening.

During this evening, Ton Vries and Mirjam de Bruin-Hoegée will take you into the chemistry of today. Not a standard conference or lecture, but an inspiring and accessible show full of stories from the field, music, cabaret, and encounters with other young chemists from all over the Netherlands.

On November 25, Bèta in Bestuur & Beleid (BiBB) is organizing a career day at Sociëteit De Witte in The Hague. The day is intended for Master's students, PhD candidates, and postdocs with a science or technical background.

Many science students do not immediately view policy, administration, or politics as a logical career path. Yet, thanks to their analytical skills and technical knowledge, they are well-equipped to contribute to societal issues regarding, for example, climate, energy, digitalization, health, and safety.

During the BiBB Career Day, participants will receive concrete tools to explore a step towards administration, policy, or politics. The program consists of lectures, workshops, a career fair, and discussions with professionals in the field. There will also be speakers such as Henri Bontenbal (CDA parliamentary group leader) and Jan Anthonie Bruijn (former President of the Senate and Minister of Health, Welfare and Sport).

There is a limited number of places available; the career day sells out every year.
